We would stay in this room for two days, and then be switched to a similar room on the same side, with the two queen beds. The catch was the room had one king size bed and an extra bed, instead of two queens (as requested). So I wasn’t having it.Īfter waiting over an hour we were able to switch to a room in one of the family buildings (but still enjoy the adult only amenities). Besides, we paid a lot and was really looking forward to using our balcony and jacuzzi. My cousin has asthma and I get bad bronchitis. I knew this was a lie and refused to accept the room. The hotel staff told us that they couldn’t do anything until the day after next as they were at 100% capacity. There was a line of just as angry people in front of us demanding a room change. To make a long story short, the majority of the rooms in the Mirage Club (adult only section) was facing the construction. I was like oh hell no and marched right back to the lobby. An active construction site with men working at that very moment. When I arrived at the room and walked on the balcony, I discovered that we were dead smack in front of the construction. Of course we were given a room with a construction view. Although those reviews were months ago, I put in a request when I booked the trip (a month in advance) for a room away from construction. Now upon reading reviews, I saw some guests mention that there was construction going on next door and they had to have their room changed. And served us champagne while we waited for our paperwork to be processed. The hostess lead us to a lounge area with an array of desserts. Here is where things get a bit rocky. We were treated like royalty upon arrival. The rest of the resort is family friendly with access to the same amenities with the exception of a private restaurant, the private pools and an adult only side of the beach. We booked a one bedroom suite with an outdoor jacuzzi in the Mirage Club. The Mirage Club is the adult only section, and features 8 private swim up pools, two VIP Lounges and a host of other amenities. The Majestic Mirage Punta Cana has two sets of accomodations. There’s also a coffee bar with snacks, and 24 hour room service. The all suite resort features 8 restaurants, 6 a la carte, and the Sports Bar that’s open 24 hours. The Majestic Mirage is a new five star, all-inclusive resort that just opened in December 2016. Let me start off by telling you guys about the resort. So we took a six day vacay at the Majestic Mirage Punta Cana, in Dominican Republic. My girls and I were long overdue for a Girls Trip.
